Teak Mansion is one of Bangkok's must-see tourist attractions.
The Vimanmek Mansion is the world's biggest golden teak
mansion. The Mansion was first built in Koh Si Chang in
1868, it was moved to Dusit area by the order of the King
Rama V. The mansion was decorated in western style using
Victorian Palace in Europe as reference. There are 81 rooms
in the Vimanmek Mansion. Inside the mansion, There are Chulalongkorn's
The King's personal antiques and personal posessions and
reoyal's fernitures. Vimanmek Mansion was closed in 1932
and reopened in 1982 for tourists to visit. In the floor
near the image storage room, it is a mark made by World
War II Bomb without exposion.
To visit Vimanmek teak mansion, Travellers
must wear Proper Dress.
1. Shorts, mini-skirts, short skirts, tight fitting trousers
are not allowed wearing as outer garments.
2. See-through cloth, culotters or quarter length trousers
can not be worn.
3. Sleeveless shirts can not be worn as outer garments.
4. Sandles without ankle or heel straps can not be worn.
5. All shirt sleeves, whether long or short, can not be
rolled up.
6. Sweat shirts and sweat pants, wind-cheaters, pajamas
and fisherman trousers are not allowed
